I sort of pride myself on not missing any good remixes when they come around so whenever I miss something it. But everyone once in a while I’ll miss one and be pretty bummed that I didn’t post it. I should have done more digging into Villains tunes when I missed their last amazing remix. This one was officially commissioned a few months back and once again got lost in the fray of other remixes.

I can’t even begin to explain how crazy busy week this week has been. If you sent me something on SoundCloud I promise I’m not ignoring you! If you didn’t happen to catch the background on this track, let me fill you in. For about 2 years now Etienne De Crécy has been touring and doing a live show called Beats ‘N’ Cubes. He actually preforms in a giant cube (epic!) which you can see in many videos on youtube. And as a part of this show he plays a lot of his original tracks plus two other unfinished tracks called Welcome and Hope. So after 2 long years of modifiying here and there he’s finally decided to polish up Welcome and give it a proper release. Now we find ourselves here along with this great track and a remix by The Bloody Beetroots. It’s technically more of a remix (at least that’s what Etienne De Crécy called it), but it’s listed as featuring so that’s the way I’ll leave it. Welcome EP drops February 8th.

We got a little taste of this mix by Boys Noize a while back and everyone seemed pretty ecstatic about it. I’m glad he did a classic mix rather than a straight remix on this since the amazing vocoder work he’s done might not have sounded so good.

I have a theory that states: Whenever an artists titles a track with more than just “(artist’s name remix)”, said remix will always amazing.

The Boys Noize Records blog just dropped this sweet little piece by BeatauCue for Valentine’s Day. Everyone and their mom has been waiting for this killer remix for at least a few weeks now. Granted it’s the Vocal mix which isn’t really my favorite, but that shouldn’t stop you from playing it. I guess it pays to stay up late and watch ThunderCats online instead of Lost.

This is my first real post on Fare Soldi, which is a shame since I’ve shadowed them on other blogs for a while now. They put a call out on Twitter that a new remix of theirs was about to drop in the newsletter and if anyone wanted it early, just ask. So of course I did and it’s probably the best decision of I’ve made all week. I can even describe how good they made the synths and horns sound over Stevie’s voice. It’s hands down my favorite Superstition to date.

Not quite as big as Drone was, but I’m really feeling the single of Felix Cartal’s debut LP Popular Music. I’m most interested to hear Berlin though which I’ve heard is even more intense than Drone. Anyone else excited for this album?
