Reset! has cranked out some amazing remixes this year and after releasing their latest single, If We Try, their first EP is ready for your listening enjoyment. I took me a few days of really listen to this EP after it was released on Sunday to get a proper feel for all the tracks, but having done that I can say this will probably be one of my top favorite EP’s this year. The two best tracks for me are We’re Dead, which has funky herve like quality to it, and the title track My Trunk, which is very reminiscent of a good BeatauCue track. Highly recommend you pick this EP up as soon as you can.

Just got my hands on this new Villains mix and I’ve already listened to it twice since last night. They did a remix for Shakira and The Bravery earlier this year which I both went bonkers over. The mix is a collage of new and old tracks with a few edits and remixes layered on top of others, my favorite being track 7. The Villains Fischerspooner remix, which is set to drop soon, is also featured in the mix.

So what’s everyones take on MSTRKRFT now? I love the productions they do by themselves, but this whole “of MSTRKRFT” thing is getting a bit old. I guess JFK has been busy with his label, which is okay, I’m just always a bit hurt when something great like MSTRKRFT used to be gets put on the back burner. Anyway, this new remix pretty good. I could have done with less vocal at the beginning, but I still like it. Thanks to El3ctronight for the heads up on this.

I can only imagine one of the hardest things to go through as an artist must be sample clearance. It’s been the death and delay of many a track, but occasionally the artist will just say fuck the system and give the track away for free. That’s what we have here today with this groovy new tune from Ocelot. It’s got a bit more funk to it than Our Time with some wicked synth work built in. I’m still really looking forward to their debut album No Requests. Last I heard it’ll be dropping later this year, sample clearance provided.

I was a bit skeptical about this new Diplo track after listening to the truly awful Don Diablo dubstep remix that they gave away for free a month ago. I don’t doubt some of his production skills, but someone seriously needs to tell Don to stick to anything other than dubstep.. Anyway, the original track is actually really enjoyable for me. Nice drop with extra heavy bass. What more could you ask for?

Ah! another long wait for a few great tracks is finally over. AC Slater‘s Calm Down Trilogy was released this morning much to my delight. When I first heard AC drop Part 2 earlier this year it quite literally shook the room and gave me goosebumps. The Club Mix with DJ Craze scratching over the top is also just explodes on the right speakers. I’m assuming the title of Part 2 has something to do with Drop The Lime and AC’s love of sandwiches, but that’s just a guess.

Just a few quick updates today regarding Remix Monday. First, a few people have requested more time to complete remixes since they work on them in their off time, so from now on Remix Monday will 4 weeks instead of 2. Second, I’ve put together a new site with the help of some awesome code by Lee Martin over at SoundCloud. To upload a remix to Remix Monday in the future, simply visit remixmonday.com, login with your SoundCloud account, and upload your remix! This will allow all the remixes to be put in a single place for everyone to listen to. You’re more than welcome to upload your Leave The World Behind remixes there, but I won’t be officially requiring that until the next competition.

The Count & Sinden slammed together a crazy Essential Mix last night. Herve is definitely no stranger to the Essential Mix as, if I’m counting right, this is his third one. Herve and Sinden both did a mix back in 2008 which is still one of my more favorite UK sounding mixes. I also caught a listen of their first album earlier and I have to say it’s nothing short of MEGA. It drops this Tuesday, DO pick it up.
