Solid Bump is officially in the running for one of my top labels this year. They just released Vol. 2 of their Pleasure & Pressure series which features tracks from Le Principle, Mykill, White Girl Lust, Meroz, and Laberge. They’ve sent along a track by one of their newest artists, Mykill, that isn’t included in the release. I just got my hands on this volume earlier today and was literally dancing in my chair for a half hour while listening to it. Electro may get your fist in the air, but disco moves your whole body. Look out for Solid Bump to do some massive things in 2010 with disco house music.

@Rikoman Obviously anything Solid Bump puts out would be a good place to start. But you can also check out Tommie Sunshine’s new label Brooklyn Fire.
As for blogs, the best for disco/funk is definitely Disco Delicious. http://www.discodelicious.com/

Hey Rikoman,
Thanks for checking out our stuff. In regards to other artist – other than our artist of course – make sure you check out Ghosts of Venice, Swivelhips, Leonardus, Pirupa, VDRK, Bit Funk, and Caligula. Even some of the more “big room” artist are doing some stuff that is funky ass house – such as Riva Starr.
Over at our site we often feature friends and family releases. It’s going to be a good year if you like funky house music.
