The time has finally come.. Justice‘s first single, Civilization, off their new album dropped on iTunes today. The more I listen to this track the more I seem to like it. I’m not 100% sold on the vocals, it’s definitely no D.A.N.C.E., but I’m sure the coming remixes will change that up. Excited to see what else they have in store for the album.

I really like this, but there is just something not right about it. Still love it, still bought it

Good, but very different from their first album. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album :)

SO GOOD!!! i don’t keep with these haters saying its lame and underwhelming; it’s certainly a different direction from Cross but not in a bad way. I like the sound of it, and i’ve listened to it several times now, and each time makes me want to hear it again. lyrics could be reworked a bit in the slower parts of the song, but that doesnt mean its not a REALLY SEXY single. WELL DONE XAVIER AND GASPARD

I actually like the vocals, they fit with the ‘beat’ of the music. :) Can’t wait for the album, this definitely satisfies my expectations.

This song is just as good as the other songs that Justice has produced. I mean, the vocals are just amazing, the compressed guitar and the bass is awesome. I´m completely in love with this song!

Not digging this, the backing track has good elements and the vocal is kind of ok but considering this is Justice it really doesn’t pack the punch it should. I do think it had potential if it gets a good remix treatment, so fingers crossed someone does a nice powerful job on that some time soon!

Is that Ali Love doing the vocals? I think so. I’m down.
Droespowa March 28, 2011 at 12:30 pm
Love It!

Justice just dissapointed again, i mean it sounds like accross the universe and its kind of boring, do the same shit 3 years later, and hear the same shit.
sorry am out

XYV March 28, 2011 at 7:15 pm

XYV- better then DVNO?! what are you even talking about?!?! DVNO was one of the best electronic songs every produced!
StereoBit March 29, 2011 at 3:29 am
At XYV:
What! DVNO is amazing! That bass dude! Holy shit.
IGGZ March 29, 2011 at 3:34 am
Would sounds great if the vocals were by Kevin Parker from Tame Impala. Interesting track.. i’m not a big fan, but looking forward to the album.
Sam March 29, 2011 at 4:39 am
Isn’t that a The Who – Baba O’Riley sample in the background beginning at 1:43 ?
Recoker March 29, 2011 at 6:59 am
some of the best stuff they’ve put out

Civilization is pretty cool, and I’m sure Justice will not short us on bangers on the full album to come. D.A.N.C.E. is an awesome song, but not exactly a banger either, but Cross also had Phantom I and II, Genesis, Waters of Nazareth, DVNO and a number of others that were also bangers, so I’m sure Justice has some sick shit on the album, but for now Civilization is effing sick
Sam March 29, 2011 at 3:15 pm
Pretty dissapointed by this. I really don’t like those vocals in this. Arghh… come onnnn..
Brett March 29, 2011 at 5:08 pm
I loved the new direction to be honest.
Gavin M. March 29, 2011 at 6:28 pm
Personally, I think this IS a banger. Of course it really comes down to people’s individual opinions. I, personally, was not in the least disappointed by this, but, obviously, plenty of people are going to dislike it, and that’s okay, too.

Bangers? Really? It’s fucking 2011, let’s evolve. This track is excellent, very excited about Justice’ new direction.
m March 31, 2011 at 2:31 am
Yeah, it’s 2011… and this sounds 2007.
Aaron Adler April 3, 2011 at 1:10 pm
To my ears it sounds more like a fusion of mid 70′s era art rock with scaled back classic Justice synth elements. No ridiculous pounding 4 on the floor and no harpsichords lol, it does NOT sound like 07 era electro.
XYV March 30, 2011 at 7:32 pm
DVNO makes no sense, it’s incoherent (lyrically), … at least Civilization has something decent to say.
Erik Huizinga March 31, 2011 at 12:23 am
I think it’s simply great. Poppy, but still very Justice powerful.
