Crookers – Dr. Gonzo Anthem Posted by: Nate in Electronic

I’m still not exactly sure where the Crookers are going with this whole Dr. Gonzo thing. It seems like an alias they’re producing under, yet they’ve said it’s not. It could be the name of their next album which I’ve heard is underway. All I know is that I like this sound, a lot. I know people started to lose a bit of faith in the Crookers after their album dropped. It was a radically different sound that Phra refered in the interview I had with him as:

“Not a 12 club tracks album…or a 12 Day N Night rmx album, it’s more what we like to listen to in our car when we are going to the airport”

This Dr. Gonzo project is much more of a step back to their original sound. Not quite club, not quite a Day N Night remix album, and not quite airport music, but definitely something good. They’ve also collaborated with two other artists once again for this EP. Lazy Ants & His Majesty Andre join them for Carcola. I think it’s about time for a whole new love affair with the Crookers to begin!

p.s. Please listen to this track on some good speakers/headphones. The perfectly clean cut bass just doesn’t come through on laptop speakers.
