In Ligh† Of Recent Events… Posted by: Nate in Electronic

Hey gang! I guess its been a while… Almost 3 years to be exact. A lot has changed, I a lot is ever changing. I’ll have more to say about that in the days to come. For now I’m taking this slow. Since it was around Christmas time when I took a break many moons ago, I wanted to give back, so I’m giving away the rest of the shirts I have from the second design, because they should have a home on a good back rather than a box. I’ll be doing that just a bit later in the week (still trying to figure out logistics). I only have 25 shirts left, so no fighting!

In the mean time, I felt just a bit compelled to post this mix. Since Justice has just released their second Essential Mix, I wanted to share with you guys the first Justice mix I ever heard. I have around 30 Justice mixes in my library as of counting right now. (maybe I’ll upload them all someday?) Several from back in 2005 and 2006, most from 2007 after that. This one has always hit home for me, always. Some of you say I got you into electronic music by reading this blog.. This set got me into electronic music. It’s very raw and completely nothing what Justice sounds like today, but I still feel the passion from it years later.

I used to hang out at my best friends house across the street in the afternoons, we’d both be on our computers, he would be jamming some FL Studio beat and I’d be looking up random music. I can still remember the one day he told me to come over and played Waters Of Nazareth to me off Justice’s Myspace page and said “You have to listen to this!”.

Its not the best quality for a set, okay, its pretty awful. This was back in 2007, but I hope someone will understand how special it actually is.

Justice – Pink Pony Is Dead Party (06-23-07) (192 kbps) <---totally more like 96.

I’ve been a regular reader/listener since early 2010 and I thought everything had literally disappeared overnight. All the blogs were gone in a flash. I DJ and would get a lot of influence from the tunes you would post. I’m happy to see your return and am looking forward for what’s to come!

Great news! I’m very eager to know how your taste has evolved over the years. Do you still DJ?

I DJ since 2005 and in the progress, your blog really has had an influence on my style. I discovered the joy of electro and trash electro back in the days. The posted mixtape is very representative of that time… Crappy quality indeed, but such good vibes!
In the mean time, I’m more of a tech house fan now, but I still cherish the good old electro times.

Thanks for being back! Looking forward for what’s to come… Good luck!

I remember checking your blog everyday back in 2010 and pretty much this was the main source for keeping my sets fresh. Thanks for that haha

Don’t get your hopes up guys, you know Nate! ChemicalJ was a great music source for sure but now it is mostly dead links. This is now a testimony of the 2010′s era that we can scroll through to get the vibe from that time…

10 months late to the party, how do I score one of those sweet shirts? This blog defined my musical taste in college.
