The mini-mix comp is officially closed and I couldn’t have hoped for a better turnout! In total I now have to listen to 94 mixes!! Seeing The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 set on Thursday night in El Paso was definitely the highlight of this week. I can’t tell you how good it felt to hear all the old remixes that really made me love them played live. They even played some new material at the end which was right in line with where they started and absolutely out of this world. They’re most definitely back.

Blende has been on the music scene for a while now, but only recently has their music started to really blow up. They were signed to JFK’s label Teenage Riot Records early this year and have been dominating the dance floor with their first EP release So Well ever since. For this mix they’ve throw in two brand new remixes of theirs that’ll be released next week, as well as a sneak peak of what’s coming next up next for them on Teenage Riot Records. Look out for these guys to make big moves in 2010!

Still trying to wrap my head around last nights streaming of Ultra fest. Whoever was in charge of it had some strange love affair with Digweed and bad trance music. After they got their act together and finally switched to The Bloody Beetroots I got my first real impression of Death Crew 77. Bob ran around a bunch screaming and playing everything his hands touched, Tommy did an awful lot of clapping when he wasn’t mixing songs together, and Edward just killed the drums like nobody’s business. All in all it was a fantastic performance, but I still enjoy their DJ sets over the live band style. Kudos for trying something new though.
