Seeing The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 set on Thursday night in El Paso was definitely the highlight of this week. I can’t tell you how good it felt to hear all the old remixes that really made me love them played live. They even played some new material at the end which was right in line with where they started and absolutely out of this world. They’re most definitely back.

Well it’s certainly been a fun week around here. Some of you may have been online Monday when I went on Ustream and spun some records for an hour. A lot of people asked if it was going to be a new weekly thing and after having so much fun with it, I couldn’t see a reason not to. This is one of those songs that doesn’t really need to be remixed, but if you do remix it, you’d better do it right. Unlike some other remixes I’ve heard Cold Blank‘s remix is actually pretty great.

The crazy duo that call themselves Cold Blank have got a new EP out. I picked it up the other day and was thoroughly impressed by 2012. I’ve always preferred their remixes over any original tracks, but this one broke the mold for me throwing in a great classical sample throughout the song. You can pick up the other track on the EP, Nibiru, from Beatport.

This is starting to get like all the La Roux remixes only a thousand times worse, but I had to do a special post about this because It’s probably one of the best Pon De Floor remixes out right now. Of course that’ll probably change now that they’ve launched a Pon De Floor remix competition so if you’re getting tired from all the Major Lazer remixes, you’d better leave the internet for a few weeks.
