One of the greatest feelings in the world has got to be finally getting that track that you’ve been waiting months for. Well, this morning you can feel it again with the release of D.I.M. & TAI‘s track Ion. It actually doesn’t give me that same feeling that Lyposuct originally did, but in this day and age, Ion is a shining light in the world of electro that won’t soon fade away.

Completely forgot to post about this EP when it was released a couple of weeks ago. Daisypark Trailerchain is the new side project of D.I.M. and TAI. How they came up with the name is the most obvious question on my mind, but I’m sure that mystery will be solved at a later time. The track sounds very D.I.M. & TAI like, though it won’t win any banger awards. For now I’m definitely content with listening to these two tracks while we wait for the real bomb, Ion, to drop.

Best week of 2011 so far! Tons of new music and announcements from 2006-7′s greatest heros Justice, MSTRKRFT and SebastiAn. There’s no way next week will be nearly as awesome as what we just lived through, but something tells me there won’t be any fat ladies around to sing for quite awhile.

It’s WMC & Ultra Fest time again and continuing the tradition from last year Boys Noize Records has released Miami Noize 2 which is chalk full of new tracks from most of the BNR artists. I was mentioning last week how I wish D.I.M. and TAI would do another track together, and while it’s not the same epic banger that Lyposuct was, Glass proves to be
a enticing house tune with an almost funk hint to it. Other notable new tracks on the release are Jan Driver’s Listen To This Dub, Siriusmo’s Kontact Me remix, and Noob’s track Banga.

Ladies and gentlemen, circumstances have now escalated this issue into a full blown conspiracy on a global scale. I’m talking of course about artists-playing-obviously-stellar-tracks-and-forgoing-official-releases-a-long-ass-time-er syndrome, or apostforlater (a totally real and serious condition I didn’t just make up). I get that some times samples need to be cleared occasionally, or it’s one of your “DJ weapons” that’ll never be released. That’s totally cool with me. I just want the heads up that it’ll never be released so I can move on with my life. The next time you see people commenting on youtube videos for months begging for a track, you might wanna think about releasing it in a timely fashion. /rant Anyway, this new D.I.M. joint is more old school D.I.M. for obvious reasons (see above). And although I’ll probably end up putting Kleine Traume in a set or two, I’m strangely finding myself drawn a little to the more techno the b-side La Prarie.

Etienne De Crecy just released his latest EP on Monday. I really wasn’t expecting it to be as good as Welcome, but I was presently surprised when I sat down and gave the whole thing a listen. The D.I.M. remix seemed to stand out the most for me although I did equally enjoy Djedjotronic’s remix and the Live At Bogota Mix.

So here’s my favorites of 2009 post. Not necessarily the best tracks released this year, but they’re among the most played for me. I’m not gonna comment on each one since I’ve probably already done it on the blog before. I will say that it’s been an absolutely crazy year as far as electronic music goes. 2008 couldn’t touch 2009 and I’m sure the same will be said next year. After all, we have the new Daft Punk album to look forward to!

I’m sure most of you have already seen this video Boys Noize posted a few days ago of him dropping some new D.I.M. As luck would have it I was browsing around today and stumbled upon a set rip that gives you a little more of the track than in the video. I usually don’t post set rips because of the shitty quality, but I’ll make an exception for this one. Can’t wait to hear that first drop in full quality on some nice speakers.
