Chemical Jump

The new brainchild of Riton and DJ Mehdi had internet life breathed into it today. The duo will be touring Europe and the US in May/June playing strictly house music. Last year seemed more like the year for super-duos, but the way things looking 2010 may bring the thunder. Their first EP is set to drop this May on Ed Banger.

I can’t even begin to explain how crazy busy week this week has been. If you sent me something on SoundCloud I promise I’m not ignoring you! I just haven’t had enough time to sit down and really listen to anything yet. Hopefully I’ll have some free time soon to answer emails and listen to all the great stuff I’ve been sent.

Saw this pop up on the Ed Banger podcast earlier today and thought I should post it since I’ve already covered his remix album that’s about to drop. This 45 minute mix consists of, you guessed it, even more remixes by DJ Mehdi. I don’t immediately recognize most of the tracks, but then again I’m not too familiar with Mehdi’s extensive amount of remixes. If anyone wants to try their hand at a tracklist hit up the comments. DJ Mehdi’s remix album Red, Black & Blue is set to drop November 2nd and its jam packed with some great tune. Some of them have obviously been released before, but a few I’m just now seeing for the first time. All the remixes are mixed together which is actually kinda nice. It’ll definitely be worth grabbing and throwing it on in your car for a long drive.

Caught this on DJ Mehdi’s blog this morning. An unreleased remix he did of one of my favorite Crookers tracks Embrace The Martian. Here’s what he has to say about it.

A-Trak asked me to do it for a possible Fools Gold release of this baby, around September 2008. I guess, by the time I got to finish this (which I never really did), them crooks and the Cleveland kid were touching the stratosphere with their ‘Day and Night’ bomb, and thus never dropped ‘The Martian’. It’s not the most inspired remix I ever did, but I still enjoy playing it from time to time. Enjoy—

So here it is. In hindsight it was a really bad idea to decide to do this without looking at Switches Wikipedia page first. I rounded up as many remixes as I could get my hands on.  These are only some of the official remixes listed on his Wikipedia page. He’s done MANY MANY more than this as both Switch and Solid Groove. If anybody has any ideas for future mega posts I’ve included a zip file at the end of this post with all the songs.
