It’s always more a matter of when, not if someone would recreate the next unreleased Duck Sauce track. We now have that thanks to Bastille. Unlike a lot of other artists when Barbra first came out, Bastille went back and using the same sample from The Member’s Radio they managed to remake the track quite nicely. The baseline seems a bit different, but I’m actually glad they didn’t try to copy the track exactly because it usually doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as the original.

I’m digging pretty good on the new Duck Sauce track Big Bad Wolf. It’s worlds away from being close to Barbra Streisand, but to me it’s still a super fun bouncy transition track. And we didn’t even have to wait more than a few months to get it!

Unfortunately some bad news. As most of you may know by now I won’t have the new shirts in time for EDC. I thought the funds would be here by now (and they should have been), but circumstances beyond my control have gotten in the way. I’ve never been a fan of pre-orders either, since I don’t know exactly what the shirts will look like. I don’t want to promise one thing and deliver another. So for now, keep your dancing shoes on, because as soon as they’re ordered you guys will be the first to know.

I’ve been listening to this remix over and over again since yesterday when Green Label Sound gave it away for free in honor of Chromeo’s lastest North American tour. I just can’t put my finger on it as to why, but it doesn’t get me nearly as excited as the originals that Duck Sauce has put out. However, I still think it’s a good remix, and seeing as how it’s their first I’m willing to cut them a little slack this time.

I promise I won’t get into the habit of posting mash ups on a daily basis, but I heard this little gem the other day and It went over well on ustream, so I had to share it. It’s not unlike a lot of mash ups really, the only thing that sets it apart is it’s actually a good one.

It seems the embargo on posting this track has been lifted (thx GDD). Duck Sauce‘s new/old track Barbra promo’d a few weeks ago to various DJ’s and influential people (myself not included). Thinking about it a bit, It might have been a good thing it got released months late. I don’t know if I could have handled dancing to such a groovy tune all summer.. That’s a lie, of course I could! But in all honesty, I think all the hype did a lot more harm than good in the long term. The track won’t get nearly as much play as it should, and for that I shed a single tear for barbra.
