As sure as the sun rises each day, you can count on some sets from I Love Techno being streamed over satellite and recorded for your listening pleasure each year. And unfortunately as with the setting sun, some of the sets weren’t aired completely. But that shouldn’t stop you from getting up each morning, especially on a morning like this one!

I’d personally say my favorite out of all these is a very close tie between Drop The Lime, Knife Party, and Boys Noize.

I actually have a lot to say this week! but I’ll try and keep it short. I received an email about last week’s I’ll Just Leave This Here picture as being as “sexy” as it normally is. To clear the air, I wanna say that the purpose of these pictures for me has never been to showcase hot girls. I Originally I inherited the idea from a French blog that was around way before I was called Boule à Facettes. Sadly they aren’t around anymore, but they occasionally posted a picture of an attractive girl with some music and it some how drew me in. Others have clearly copied this style and for obvious reasons, though for me it’s never been about what you CAN see in a picture, but more about what you CAN’T see, and I feel it’s similar with music. Some times you’ll hear a song and be confronted with its immediate presents, yet after a few listens you start to feel a deeper meaning to the song. You discover patterns and hear beats that you’ve never heard before. Anyway, that’s the purpose of the pictures for me. If you just like seeing hot girls, that’s okay too!

Last night’s Essential Mix was filled with live sets from the Rockness festival that took place in Scotland last week. Sets from DJ Shadow, Simian Mobile Disco, Fake Blood and Skrillex were all aired. Fake Blood‘s set was the most interesting to me as it contains Voices, Deep Red and Yes & No which are all new unreleased tracks by Fake Blood. It’s also a damn good mix for a Saturday afternoon.

I will say that it’s been an absolutely crazy year as far as electronic music goes. 2008 couldn’t touch 2009 and I’m sure the same will be said next year. After all, we have the new Daft Punk album to look forward to!
