Hostage dropped this little slice of modern day rave a few days ago and it’s been stuck in my head every since. I’ll be the first to tell you I love remixes of old 90′s rave tracks. AC Slater has started making his own rave tracks, but it’s always good to see some remixes of originals to keep the spirit of old school raves alive. Question: When is a track too hard? Answer: Never. Case in point, Aerotronic‘s new Sex & Cigarettes EP that was released a few days ago. I’ll admit I headed for safe waters at first and only downloaded the Hostage remix in the email I was sent. After listening to it a few times I went back and grabbed the original. I can only liken what happened next to being hit in the face with a sack of potatoes. Not that I’ve ever been hit in the face with a sack of potatoes, but I’m sure it must feel something like blasting this track in your face at full volume. And did I mention there’s a VNNR remix? If you have small children in the room with you, kindly ask them to leave now.

Some of you may know this last track if you follow Justice closely. I had a minute long sample of this back in the day and was happy to see the full song posted on a blog earlier in the week. Pretty good week as far as music goes. One thing that really drives me crazy though is that people just can’t stop remixing La Roux! Every week we get another remix popping out of the woodwork. I’m secretly hoping this Fred Falke remix finally puts an end to it all since it pwns all others (except for Skreams remix of course).
