Another one of my favorite still up and coming artists to follow, Religion, has put their own spin on two of Dada Life’s tracks which they graciously gave out the stems for. There are so many remixes out there now that Dada Life has set the stems free I almost feel overwhelmed, but these Religion remixes really bring it home to a heavy sound for me. It’s definitely a sound that’s been losing favor to Complextro lately, though it’ll always have a place on my hard drive and in my heart.

Another solid week in the can. Although that I Love Techno stream last night was pretty lame. Whoever was controlling the video should be fired and thrown into a bloody hole. Anyway, I’ll try and post some of the live sets tomorrow if I can find them in good quality.

If I have to take away one thing from this vacation it would be never take a good internet connection for granted. Other than that the wedding I went to for my cousin last night was a blast, even if the DJ never played my request for some “320 bangers”.

I’ve never been a huge fan of M.I.A. remixes since I’ve never been a huge fan of M.I.A. to begin with, but this new Religion remix just obliterates in all the right ways. When it sets off it almost reminds me of a MSTRKRFT track (can’t for the life of me remember which one) with the way it sounds. Either way I’m gonna be blasting this a lot in the coming weeks.

Well this week was pretty shitty, but there was some fun drama on Twitter yesterday! Apparently, Rusko was sitting backstage smoking a blunt when Deadmau5 came up and asked him to stop. Rusko then told him to fuck off and Deadmau5 subsequently called security. I think that if Deadmau5 didn’t like it, he could have just gone somewhere else, but calling security on Rusko backstage like that was just a puss move on his part. #teamrusko

Also, DJ Kue posted up his full trackography (with the exception of this year’s releases) over on his blog. It’s got some good jems that are definitely worth checking out.

Another artist that hadn’t really popped up on my radar until recently is the LA duo known as Religion. I had a few of their previous remixes, but it wasn’t until I heard the remix they did for Steed Lord (which I immediately charted) that I went and downloaded every remix I could find. The two most recent remixes are without a doubt some of the best in their repertoire. I’m loving how much harder and energetic they made Avalanche.
