Seems like tracks are always catching me by surprises these days. Mainly because several artists either aren’t very social savy or just choose not to announce every one of their remixes. Regardless, SebastiAn is about to drop a new remix of Toddla T‘s Watch Me Dance. This track is highly and instantly addictive if you’ve become accustomed to SebastiAn’s music stylings in the past. One of the very last remaining artists that’s still retaining that distorted sound from years ago that got me hooked on electronic music in the first place. I will never get tired of this.

As almost if by some magical 2007/8 fashion, SebastiAn‘s debut album leaked onto the internet over the weekend. After listening through it a full 3 times and numerous repeats of tracks I can say this will definitely be one of my top albums this year. His use of sampling and not making everything sound too completely distorted takes me right back to the days when I first heard about him and the Ed Banger crew. Kindercut is probably my favorite off the album, although it’s actually just a rehash of a remix he did of Sneaky Sound System back in 2007, he’s removed the parts that aren’t original done by him and created a new track which I’ve seen more artists do now-a-day when they make something they really like. Raise your hand if you want a SebastiAn 2011 US tour!

It’s happening. SebastiAn is finally coming out with his next album called Total later this year and he’s just released the music video for his first single Embody. As always the video is directed by Ed Banger artist extraordinaire So-Me who does an outstanding job with it. I knew he’d be doing good things this year after I heard his Uffie 2006 Parties Remix last year. 2007 is officially back in full swing people! New Justice, SebastiAn, MSTRKRFT.. I haven’t been this happy about electronic music in a long time and things can only get better from here. Everything changed in 2007, and now everything is about to change again.

It’s really amazing how you can remix a track to make it sound from a certain year. That’s exactly what SebastiAn did with this 2006 throwback remix of Uffie’s new single. I’m not in love with the vocals by any means, but the sound instantly transports me back to that time I heard Waters of Nazareth for the first time. I’m very fond of those days when I was first getting into electronic music. And while I can’t say that I’d play this out too much today, in 2006 it would have put the biggest grin on my face.

I promised I’d get some free stuff for you guys soon and this is only the beginning! Editors really popped on my radar back in October when they launched a Google Street View promo for the new album (check it out here). Every since then I’ve followed Editors news closely and when I saw that Boys Noize was doing a remix, I couldn’t have been happier. First week of 2010 wasn’t too bad. Lots of stuff from Ed Banger off their xmas promo and Danger making a big push with remixes before his EP is release. In other news I wanted to say that Mailbag Monday will be returning next week due to popular demand.
