The mini-mix comp is officially closed and I couldn’t have hoped for a better turnout! In total I now have to listen to 94 mixes!! I’m pretty sure some official remix competitions don’t even get that many entries, so I’ll be taking the next week or so to go through all of them and pick my 3 favorites then have you all vote on the winner.

Finally officially released Sunday is the awesome remix of Save The World by Zedd. When I first heard Save The World I didn’t really have too many high hopes for the original which was without a doubt pretty bland and unexciting. I knew that just like One eventually a remix would be a hit just like Congorock transformed it into a summer smash last year. Sure enough, Zedd swooped in and made this so playable that I almost think it’ll be over played now. Style of Eye & Carli may have saved the world for the time being, but the true savior is now Zedd.

No question here, Style of Eye & Carli (of Savage Skulls) are the real saviors of Save The World. This remix is a million times better than the original for me and just hits all the right spots. I still think AN21 & Max Vangeli’s remix will end up winning me over in the long run, but this is definitely the next best thing. p.s. is it just me, or does Save The World sound a bit like the melody from MSTRKRFT’s Heartbreaker?

I’ve got mixed feelings about the new Swedish House Mafia track. I do enjoy listening to it, but let me just say right now that I don’t think Save The World will ever be as big as One. Granted people, even myself, hated One at first and then got huge for some reason and then Congorock remixed it which made it even bigger for us electro heads, but I don’t think that’ll be the case here with Save The World. It’s got a very Miami 2 Ibiza feel to it (except with better vocals) and we all know how much Miami 2 Ibiza gets played.. From my point of view, it just doesn’t have the driving anthem force that One had. Still something worth listening to, though.

Swedish House Mafia have finally dropped their summer bomb known now as One. It was originally believed to be called Gangsta after it’s debut at WMC a few weeks ago. It’s their first official single under the name Swedish House Mafia and if its any indication of what they’ll be coming out with later this year, I definitely want more.

I’ve been getting more into the depths of house music recently as you might have noticed by my occasionally posting of a few Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso tracks. It seems the power house of house music today is coming out of the super collective Swedish House Mafia which is made up of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. I downloaded this bootleg the other day that they did of Leave the World Behind/Show Me Love and was completely blow away. I don’t think any two house songs could ever go together this perfectly.
