Congorock is back again, after only a couple of months this time, with a new single. If you thought his last original Sirius was big, Ivory completely towers over and dwarfs it in a second. After listening to it a couple of times I’ve come to think that it would fit perfectly as the official war cry of an amazonian tribe if they had access to loud speakers. And as an added bonus we also get an always great remix by The Bloody Beetroots, which I’m sure was in trade for the remix Congorock did on Church of Noise. I really love the little piano bits in the Bloody Beetroots remix too. It feels very natural to the song even though it’s not a part of the original.

I’ve actually had a hard time coming up with what I feel about this new Bloody Beetroots track. Each new track that Bob puts out feels more and more like “change” from what we’ve all gotten used to, and what I’ve come to realize over the past year is that he would never describe it that way. We all see music as an ever changing machine. Artists change, styles change. I think Bob sees music more as a revolution. A chance to kill off the old and imagine a whole new way of doing things. Doing the same thing would be falling into line with everyone else, revolution is about breaking away from that.

Anyway, about the actual track. Before anyone listens to this song itself you should definitely head over and read the Church Of Noise Manifesto. It’ll help you get a perspective on the track and set your mind free of those previous inclines you held onto. With that said, this is my favorite Bloody Beetroots track in a long time. Viva La Revolution.

I honestly hate just about every Britney Spears remix I’ve ever heard (except for the two I’ve posted), but Bob somehow manages to pull out another winner with his. The vocals remind me a lot of his remix of the Secret Handshake’s Summer Of 98. We haven’t heard any originals from him in a while which leads me to believe he’s working on something big, possibly bigger than Warp. I’ll definitely be crossing my fingers for something along the lines of his recent remixes.

Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo has just released his best of Bloody Beetroots remixes the other day and while most of us see these remixes as old and dated, there are people out there just be discovering them for the first time. I still look back on those early days as some of the best times in my relatively short electro experience. I can remember exactly what I felt the first time I heard each one of these remixes and the bigger than life grin I had on once it finished. My all time favorite is still the Pistols & Hearts remix. I don’t get to throw it into too many sets at 155 bpm, but when I do there’s not a better feeling in the world.

Part of my usual afternoon ritual includes reading through a backlog of tweets that happened over night to make sure I didn’t miss anything cool or hip. I’m extremely glad that I did this afternoon because I would have missed a tweet from Bob Rifo announcing a new Bloody Beetroots remix that just dropped yesterday. It’s of Goose‘s latest single Can’t Stop Me Now that also includes a killer dub mix by Jester. The Bloody Beetroots remix is very much in line with their last remix, but it’s definitely not as DJ friend for mixing. Overall though I’m very happy with the direction Bob is going with things lately. Let me know what you guys think about this in the comments.

Bob opened up his set at Pukkelpop a few weeks ago with this new remix and from what I hear in the ripped set it went off. Not that there’ve been many, but this definitely takes the spot for my favorite Bloody Beetroots remix of the year. It brings me back a lot of those feelings of the good old days. Never thought I’d see the day that Turbo gave an mp3 away instead of sending a takedown notice, but I guess miracles happen everyday! Anyway, Turbo just released the latest Bloody Beetroots remix completely free. The official release drops June 22nd with remixes from The Bloody Beetroots, Noob, and Sound of Stereo. This remix is a little short for my tastes at just 2:39, although it makes up for it with the truly hard sound. This is not a love song, kids.
