It seems like it’s been forever since we heard a new original from VNNR. Thankfully that’s all in the past now with his release of What?! just a few days ago. He’s refined his sound so much from the old days when I can still remember writing him a message on Myspace asking if I could get an mp3 of his Mars remix to post. I could feel the hardness being refined with each remix that he released but it especially stands out in this track. The Modek remix is another awesome little treat bundled into the EP that will not doubt make more than a few people happy. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait like that again!

This new remix from VNNR has been previewed on The OddWord’s SoundCloud for about a month now and it finally saw a release last week. As per his previous remixes, VNNR brings the heavy and is again supported hugely by Mr. Oizo and others. SHAX’s remix of No Machine is also an interesting little number that caught my ear so be sure to give that a listen.

So here’s my favorites of 2009 post. Not necessarily the best tracks released this year, but they’re among the most played for me. I’m not gonna comment on each one since I’ve probably already done it on the blog before. I will say that it’s been an absolutely crazy year as far as electronic music goes. 2008 couldn’t touch 2009 and I’m sure the same will be said next year. After all, we have the new Daft Punk album to look forward to!

I still can’t believe VNNR hasn’t been blogged about more. I just came across one of this new remixes yesterday which is getting support from both Busy P and Mr. Oizo. The second I heard it I put it on repeat. It sort of feels like a slightly more intense and sped up version of SebastiAn‘s Motor. It doesn’t really matter what it sounds like though, because it’ll probably murder anyone you play it for.
